Core Values
Kincentric Ecology
Kincentric ecology represents both an emerging and ancient perspective that emphasizes our interconnectedness with all life. It recognizes humans as part of nature and acknowledges the intelligence, sensibilities, and intentionality of the more-than-human world.
Decolonial Approach
Our project is grounded in a decolonial worldview. We commit to equality and actively oppose all forms of discrimination, including racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, and religious discrimination. We intend to unlearn internalized colonialism and address systemic injustices in our ways of being. We commit to include a pluralistic worldview where many worlds mutually exist.
Intent and Impact
We acknowledge the difference between impact and intent. Understanding that focusing solely on intent can be harmful, we emphasize the importance of considering the effects of our words and actions.
Deep Listening
At the heart of Kincentric Social Justice is the call to deeply listen to both our more-than-human kin and our human kin, from whom we have come to feel disconnected. This involves cultivating empathy and connection to truly understand diverse perspectives and experiences, birthing stronger connections and mutual respect.
Spirit of
Giving and Receiving
We embrace generosity as a fundamental way of relating to others, both in giving and receiving. By fostering a culture of mutual support and collaboration, we challenge the exploitative tendencies instilled by modernity and nurture a sense of community and shared purpose.
Leaders Among Leaders
We believe true transformation requires everyone to become their own leader. We encourage individuals to connect with their inner wisdom and knowledge, a way of being that challenges stale hierarchies and encourages all individuals to connect with their inner compass, serving as an anchor and guide By fostering a community of leaders, we create a collaborative environment where shared leadership drives collective change.
Reparation
for
Flourishing
In the work that we are doing, we acknowledge that there can be rupture and disagreement. It is our sincere aim to let this be nourishing for our community. We honor rupture and repair as a part of the process of deepening our capacities to be together.
